rustic luxe retreat.
August 20, 2012 It randomly started with a 'boutique hotel in the Catskills' web search, which I admit, seemed like a stretch. Destiny presented itself with Graham and Co. It was precisely what I had dreamed up for a hip weekend in the country. The owners fully understand what goes into a great guest experience and their eye for design infuses every element of the motel. Completely renovated and tucked in between the mountains, the motel has close proximity to town, a fabulous pool and cozy, paired-down interiors curated from local vintage, architectural salvage and antique stores.
Upon check-in, we were greeted with two Budweisers, along with 'How to Survive in the Woods' for a little required reading. The owners (who could not be nicer btw) hosted a bonfire in the evening and we were lucky enough to have a black bear walk by as we sipped a glass of wine under globe twinkle lights. Don't let this deter you from a visit one bit. It only adds to the woodsy charm. The following morning, we gathered with other guests at picnic tables under a market umbrella and enjoyed a lovely complimentary country breakfast of coffee, rosemary-chive muffins, juices, fresh fruit and hard-boiled eggs stamped with the Graham & Co logo. Oh the delightful details!!
I left completely inspired by their simple aesthetic sense. For our rental property in the Berkshires, I am now on the hunt for my own vintage Mexican blankets, interesting new curiosities and am motivated to finally create August Moon bath products to continue our own branding efforts. Stay tuned for photo updates!

Cruisin'...

Apparently, I never went to camp because I didn't know what a lanyard was!

Cozy, rustic loveliness...

Tivoli radios...

I don't know, he looks pretty relaxed for a 10-month old! Pax loved the supersize pool-side bean bags...

Rent a car, or hop on the bus, but get to The Graham and Co. before the secret's out.
